Player Management Actions

When you click on a player in any waitlist, you have four key actions available:

Page PlayerChip PickupEnd of Line (Bump to bottom) – Deque (Remove)

1. Page

  • Notifies the player their seat is ready

  • Sends SMS if phone number is on file

  • Player appears in Pages tab with a timer

  • Shows in yellow on waitlist display

  • Automatically moves to bottom of list after timeout (default: 5 minutes)

2. Chip

  • Marks player as temporarily away but returning

  • Player appears in Chip Pickup tab with upward counting timer

  • Shows at top of waitlist with chip icon

  • Maintains their priority for seating upon return

3. Deque

  • Completely removes player from this specific list

  • Use when player no longer wants to play this game/limit

  • Player remains on any other lists they've joined

4. End of Line

  • Moves player to the bottom of this waitlist

  • Useful for players who:

    • Weren't ready when called

    • Request to be moved down

    • Need more time before playing

SMS Notifications

Players receive text messages for:

  • Initial waitlist confirmation

  • Seat availability

  • Any status changes

Note: Phone number must be on file for SMS to work.

Managing Players from Patrons Tab

From the Patrons tab, you can manage all aspects of a player's waitlist status:

Editing Player Information:

  1. Find the player on the Patrons tab

  2. Click the player's icon

  3. Select Edit to modify:

    • Name

    • Phone number

    • Seat preference

    • Accessibility requirements

    • Status (standard, call-in, etc.)

Removing from Lists:

  1. Find player on the Patrons tab

  2. Click their icon

  3. Select Remove from All Lists to completely remove them from every waitlist they're on

Note: This is different from the "Deque" action, which only removes a player from one specific list. "Remove from All Lists" takes them off every waitlist in the system at once.

Chip Pickup Process

The Chip Pickup feature tracks players who have temporarily left a table but plan to return.

Adding Players to Chip Pickup

From Floor Manager:

  1. Select the player on their table

  2. Click Send to Waitlist

  3. Select Chip

  4. The player will appear in the Chip Pickup tab and at the top of their game's waitlist

Important Characteristics:

  • Players in chip pickup appear at the top of their respective waitlist

  • They have an upward counting timer showing how long they've been away

  • They're identified with a "chip" icon

  • You must have a waitlist open for that game/limit to use chip pickup

When Players Return

When a player returns:

  1. If their seat is still available, seat them directly from the Floor Manager

  2. If their seat was filled, they maintain priority at the top of the waitlist

  3. They're automatically removed from Chip Pickup when seated

Player Transfers

To transfer a player between tables:

  1. Click on the waitlist header

  2. Select Transfer

  3. Select the source table

  4. Select the destination table and seat

  5. Confirm the transfer

  6. This creates a transfer request visible to floor staff

Note: When a player is transferred, they're automatically clocked out of their previous table.

Integration with Floor Manager

The Waitlist Manager works directly with Floor Manager, with changes in one affecting the other.

How They Work Together

Players Seated from Waitlist:

  1. Floor Manager operator can add a player from the waitlist to a table

  2. Player is automatically removed from the waitlist

  3. Their waitlist position is maintained if they're sent back to waitlist

Tables Going Live:

  1. When a dealer clocks in at a table in Floor Manager

  2. And at least one player is seated

  3. The table automatically shows as "Going" in Waitlist Manager

Players Sent to Chip Pickup:

  1. Floor Manager sends a player to waitlist as "Chip"

  2. Player appears in Chip Pickup tab in Waitlist Manager

  3. Timer begins counting up from when they left the table

Best Practices for Daily Operations

Efficient Waitlist Management

  • Update waitlists promptly as game conditions change

  • Regularly check for players who should be removed (left without notifying)

  • Be consistent with paging procedures

  • Monitor chip pickup times to prevent abuse

Communication Tips

  • Set clear expectations with players about wait times

  • Explain the must-move system to new players

  • Let players know about alternative entry methods (kiosk, mobile)

  • Train staff to check player status before adding to lists

Common Operational Issues

Problem: Player missed their page

  • Check if they received the SMS (verify phone number)

  • Consider extending time for return if it's their first offense

  • They can be manually moved back up the list if warranted

Problem: Unable to assign player to a table

  • Verify the player is actually on the waitlist

  • Check that tables are properly assigned to the waitlist

  • Confirm dealer is clocked in at the destination table

Problem: Player shown on wrong game/limit

  • Edit player through Patrons tab

  • Remove from incorrect list

  • Add to correct list

Problem: Multiple entries for same player

  • Use player search to find all instances

  • Remove duplicate entries

  • Explain to player how to avoid this in future
