Points/Time-Based Promotion Setup

What They Are

Points/Time-Based promotions reward players based on their accumulated play time or points earned during a specified period. These promotions typically offer comps, free play, or other incentives that players can redeem at the player kiosk.

Common Use Cases

  • "Play 2 hours, get $10 Free Play"

  • "Play 4 hours Monday-Thursday for tournament entry"

  • "Earn entries hourly playing NLH or PLO for Friday night drawing"

Creating a Points/Time-Based Promotion

    • Click months to include/exclude entire months

    • Click specific dates to include/exclude individual days

    • Select days of week to create weekly patterns

  • Last Redeem Hour +/-: Cutoff time for redemption

    • Useful for promotions that must be redeemed same-day

  • Review all settings for accuracy

  • Click Submit to activate the promotion

  • The promotion will automatically change to "Going" status on the start date

Drawing-Style Promotions

Drawing promotions are a special type of Points/Time-Based promotion where players earn entry tickets.

Setup Differences:

  1. Create as a standard Points/Time-Based promotion

  2. Do NOT check the "Printable" option

  3. Set earning requirements based on how tickets are earned:

    • Example: 1 ticket per hour played

    • Example: 1 ticket per 100 points earned

Operation:

  • Players automatically earn entries when meeting requirements

  • Entries can be tracked in the system

  • Batch printing functionality for physical tickets will be available in a future update

  • Manual tracking can be used in the interim

Tracking & Reports

Access detailed information about promotion performance:

  1. From the Promotion Events dashboard, locate your promotion

  2. Click the reports icon

  3. View:

    • Total redemptions

    • Individual player redemptions

    • Dates and times of redemptions

    • Total value redeemed

Player Kiosk Integration

Points/Time-Based promotions automatically appear in the Player Kiosk when:

  • The promotion is in "Going" status

  • The current date is within the promotion date range

  • The player meets the qualification requirements

Players can:

  • View available promotions

  • See their progress toward qualifying

  • Redeem rewards when qualified

  • View their redemption history

Status Lifecycle

Points/Time-Based promotions follow this status progression:

  1. Draft: Initial creation phase

  2. Going: Active and available to players

  3. Complete: End date has passed

Unlike Jackpot promotions, Points/Time-Based promotions do not require approval and will automatically activate on the start date.

Best Practices

  • Clear Naming: Use names that clearly communicate the offer

  • Detailed Descriptions: Include all qualification requirements

  • Appropriate Timeframes: Set realistic earning periods

  • Testing: Verify kiosk redemption before launching

  • Monitoring: Check redemption reports regularly to track performance

  • Advance Setup: Create promotions at least 1-2 days before start date

Troubleshooting

Promotion not showing on kiosk?

  • Verify the promotion is in "Going" status

  • Check that today's date is within the promotion date range

  • Confirm player has met the qualification requirements

  • Ensure excluded days are set correctly

Player qualified but can't redeem?

  • Check max redemptions setting

  • Verify they haven't already redeemed the maximum allowed

  • Confirm they're trying to redeem within allowed hours
