Registration Process

Standard Registration Flow

  1. Click "Add Player" to begin registration

  2. Search for existing player

  3. Select any optional buy-in features (Bonus, Add-On, Staff-Add-On, or Bounty), then confirm total buy-in amount and fees Note: Add-ons during tournament play are processed through the Tournament Controller module

  4. Process payment

  5. System automatically assigns random table and seat

  6. If no seats are available, system prompts to either open additional seats or register the player as an alternate. Alternates receive sequential numerical assignments starting with 1, indicating position on the alternate list. Alternates appear in the registration list according to registration time Note: Preferred method for handling alternates

  7. Receipt is generated for player. Note: Receipt includes player identification, tournament details, table/seat assignment (or alternate number), and payment breakdown

Managing Alt-List

Note: While this functionality remains available in the system, the method described in section 6 of the Registration Process is the current recommended approach.

When tournament reaches table capacity:

  1. New registrations can be placed on the alt-list if you choose not to buy your alternates in until a seat is available. If you want to buy your alternates in before seating, use the workflow listed in section 6 of the Registration Process

  2. System displays alternates in sequential order based on registration timestamp

  3. When seats become available, system allows direct buy-in of alternates from the list Note: Once alternates are bought in, system automatically transfers them to the registration list

Late Registration

Users control registration status to accommodate tournament level structure.

  1. Registration and alt-list remain active until manually closed by authorized staff

  2. Registration can be closed from either Registration or Controller modules

  3. Players joining during late registration enter with current blind level

  • Follow internal cash handling procedures

Player Experience

  • Clearly communicate table and seat assignments

  • Provide receipts promptly

  • Have visible information about tournament structure and schedule

Alt-List Management

  • Communicate wait times based on alternate number

  • Update alt-list status regularly

  • Have a clear policy for no-shows on the alt-list

Common Questions

What if a player wants a specific seat?

System assigns random seats to ensure fairness. Specific seat requests may be accommodated per internal guidelines. Seat changes can be processed quickly if necessary.

How do I handle a player who registered but doesn't show up?

Absent players remain active in the tournament. Post their blinds when required and fold their hands before action begins. Players who arrive late play with remaining chips minus blinded amounts. Non-arriving players eventually blind out naturally.

Can players register online before arriving?

No, CardOpz only accepts in-person registration.
